Abstract
This presentation looks at the effects a mathematical literacy course can have on developmental students’ attitudes about mathematics, viewing themselves as doers of mathematics, and shaping their feelings about the class. Results will be shared from a research study conducted in a non-STEM developmental class using a group-based, problem-solving approach.
